Visited @Marcus Kiley Middle School today during their February Academy, designed to promote growth in ELA, Math and Social Emotional Learning. Junior Achievement partnered with Kiley's FitZone program and students will be participating in JA's It's My Future Program during FitZone activities. JAWM also donated drawstring bags, t-shirts and Dunkin Donut gift cards as prizes and rewards for the students during the week. I had the opportunity to talk to the students about JA , the success of Kiley grads in JA, and JA's new 18 Under 18 Award program- recognizing 18 middle-high school youth who display leadership, entrepreneurial thinking, and community service. Had a great visit today with Mark Laurenzano and Nalia, an 8th grader at M Marcus Kiley Middle School! I got to check out their FITZONE Athletic Performance after-school program overseen by Mr. Laurenzano. JA has had the pleasure of working with Mr. Laurenzano and Kiley Middle School students for many years. The FitZone incorporates the JA Inspire Program into their program, helping students consider careers offered here in Western MA. Nalia, is a member of FitZone and she was excited to be accepting a donation of 21 Experiment With Energy Material Kits from the American Precision Museum. Can't wait to see what they create!

Mark Laurenzano works at Kiley Middle School in Springfield. He is dedicated to inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in life. Throughout the school year Mark organizes JA Job Shadow events for the students at Kiley. Following their JA Job Shadow experience the students write thank you letters talking about their day at a local business such as OMG, Inc. in Agawam, UMASS Amherst, STCC, Westfield State, Springfield College and the FitZone.
